Let's go! On an ambulance by Rosalyn Albert and Natalia Moore
A solidly constricted board book just the right size for small hands and full of brightly coloured detail On an ambulance is one in a series of books in the Let’s Go series presented by New Frontier Publishing. Designed for the very young, the rhyming lines beg the child to predict the rhyming words, and they will learn new words as they have this book read to them, broadening their vocabulary and strengthening their ability to say them out loud.
On an ambulance takes the reader on a journey of what an ambulance is for and showing this through picking up an injured person, dealing with them in the ambulance and taking them to hospital.
A child has fallen from the tree, injuring her arm and knee. The ambulance uses its siren to get to the injured person, passing other traffic as it goes. Once there the ambulance officers help the person into the ambulance and deal with the injured, and calming them. Lights flash as the injured person is taken to hospital.
Lots of new information is given to the reader and words that are possibly unfamiliar can be learnt.
There are twelve books in the Let’s Go series.
Themes: Let’s Go series, Ambulance, Hospital, Accidents.
